This project was commissioned by the Social Rights and Urban Ecology departments of the City Council of Barcelona.

The main objective of this proposal was to provide solutions to the lack of quality public spaces in direct relation to the homes of the elderly in the Eixample area. The intervention would activate the unused space at the chamfer of the intersection of Casp and Bailen streets, creating opportunities for interaction, leisure and play.

The proposal works with one single material which is compacted earth, in the form of rectangular cuboids of fixed dimensions. The layout of these blocks would create a varied topography which allows for seating elements, play areas and vegetation pads.
