“Ether” is a series of monolithic concrete chairs derived from the extension of the lines that form the profile of each chair.

Combining a bulky material which is traditionally used in construction with the thinness of the profile presents the chair as an architectural performance and a refined object rather than a piece of furniture. The objects are expected to look weighty due to their materiality but instead give the impression of being light as feather while still affirming their sturdiness. The chairs are defined by their linearity and by the various ways they can respond to the single action of sitting.

Concrete is a material with a low tensile strength by itself. The chairs are thus reinforced with inner layers of wire mesh.
